Overview
DEPO (Depo Place) takes the safety of its community seriously. Scammers sometimes pose as DEPO representatives, editors, or scouts to deceive people. This page explains how DEPO works — and how it never works — so you can recognize fraud instantly.
How DEPO communicates with you
Our magazine editors may contact you directly and talk with you in different formats — that is a normal part of how we work. But official DEPO communication only ever comes from:
Official email addresses on the @depo.place domain.
Direct messages on Instagram or Facebook — and only from the verified Depo Place account, @depoplace.
No matter who contacts you or through which channel: every application and every payment happens only on the platform (depo.place).
DEPO will never
Ask you to apply, submit work, or send entries anywhere except the platform. All submissions happen only on depo.place.
Ask for payment to a private card, crypto wallet, or personal account. All payments — subscriptions, Depo Awards entries, magazine fees — go through the secure checkout on depo.place.
Guarantee publication, a prize, or a contract in exchange for an upfront private payment.
Ask you for nude, intimate, or any other disallowed content.
If someone asks you to pay or submit off-platform, or requests private or disallowed content — that is fraud, regardless of who they claim to be.
If someone suspicious contacts you
Do not pay and do not send anything outside the platform.
Take screenshots of the messages, profile, and any links.
